ANC Journey Staff
Pastor Young-Won Choi is the lead pastor for ANC Journey. He joined Journey in 2007 and took on the role of lead pastor in 2008. Pastor Young-Won brings a level of passion and servanthood to our congregation that has been a blessing to ANC Journey.
His vision is to serve a multi-ethnic congregation that will become a model for sharing the word of GOD through the gospel of Jesus Christ. His educational background includes degrees from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena along with his law degree from Loyola Law School and a B.A. from UCLA. Pastor Young-Won has a wife, Jane and daughter, Jilly.
Timothy Lin is a pastor with a unique background of experiencing the supernatural, life-transforming power of God. While he was deeply into Buddhism and various forms of idol worship, God brought him to his knees through the prayer of his wife and friends. Since accepting Christ in his heart, he dedicated his life for the Lord's work.
After wrapping up his successful business, he chose a new career and started to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. He has completed a degree in World Missions and is currently a bi-vocational pastor. He is also a graduate of USC. Tim, his wife, Esther and son, Danny lives in Arcadia, CA.
Charles Kim is the founding pastor of ANC Journey. Pastor Charles had a vision of reaching students and professionals living near the UCLA campus. Journey has evolved since that initial vision as it has now grown to consist of families, young professionals and students.
His educational background includes degrees from Biola University, Talbot School of Theology and Claremont University (Peter Drucker School of Management). He also has studied at Oxford University, Templeton College in the area of Globalization.
He is a bi-vocational pastor with a vision of integrating work and faith. His current and previous professional experience include consulting and developing markets for multi-national companies as well as strategical planning for several non-profit organizations.
He has worked on producing events such as JAMA New Awakening and FRESH. He is also busy raising two very active boys (Calvin-the Spiderman, Caleb- the Purple Power Ranger) and daughter Charlene, the Princess. He's lucky to be married to Cathy, whom he met during a morning prayer meeting. Charles and his family live in Stevenson Ranch, CA.
Kani Kim is the children's ministry director for ANC Journey's Kingdom Kids bible school. Kani's background is in teaching. She taught english for 4 years before deciding to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom after the birth of their daughter, Ella. She has always volunteered for the children's ministry and youth group as well as having a genuine love for the children at our church. Kids tend to flock to her. She attended UC Irvine with a degree in English/Sociology. Her husband, Rubin, and daughter, Ella, live in the valley.
Sean Kim is serving as the praise leader on ANC Journey's praise team. His musical background includes studying song writing at Berklee College of Music in Boston,producing tracks for major Korean artists, and driving the praise team crazy with his last minute arrangements of praise songs.
Currently he is enjoying his time as a new husband and father. Sean’s life has been busy with starting a new company, devoting his time to his wife Jessica and changing his beautiful baby daughter Rylin’s diapers.
